Frequently Asked Questions About Our Program!

We get asked all sorts of questions about our program and how it works. So this blog’s purpose is to help alleviate some stress and educate you on what differentiates us from other clinics.

How does the PA Wellness program work?

Our semaglutide program starts with a $50 telehealth consult that includes your medical history and any prior weight loss programs. During this call we screen for any contraindication and review how semaglutide works. Semaglutide requires labs in the last 6 months before starting.

After the call you can purchase semaglutide. Your first order includes injection supplies. Your order is compounded just for you, which can take 1-2 weeks. We ship directly to your doorstep, and when your order arrives, we have videos for injection training.

It may sound too good to be true, but we want to work with you to meet your goals! Other places place you on a standard protocol, with regular increases in your dosage. We do not follow a dosing protocol. We check with you every week through a survey, and monthly telehealth. We want you to know your side effects, how much weight you’ve lost, and your weight loss goals going forward. Then we, both provider and patient, make the right decision about changing your dosage.

Do I need a prescription before my tele-health visit with PA Wellness for Semaglutide?

Nope! We meet for a virtual consultation, ensure that semaglutide treatment is safe for you, write the prescription, and have your order of compounded semaglutide shipped to your door.

My insurance stopped covering Ozempic. Can I start at the same dose?

Yes! One of the many advantages of having a vial is dosing based on your needs.

How much weight can I lose?

Results do vary, but in a 68-week medical study of 1,961 adults living with obesity or excess weight with a related medical problem, adults lost ~35 lbs (or ~15% body weight). People taking placebo lost an average of 6lbs (or ~2.5% PA Wellness weight). The average starting weight for both groups was ~232 lbs.

How profound is this new medicine for weight loss?

Previously, the most commonly used medications for weight loss were amphetamines. These amp up your system and make you jittery. Once you stop taking them, people gain back the weight. In addition, there was always concern about the effects on your heart. Now, this new medication is so profound and stands out because it doesn’t have that impact nor negative side effects. You simply aren’t hungry enough to overeat and the medication does the work for you. In fact, there’s documentation that this is proven to be more effective than gastric bypass surgery! In the process of lacking hunger, patients are learning new eating habits because their stomach is shrinking and they’re happy with fewer calories.

Do I need to inject the medicine myself?

Yes, but don’t worry we will teach you how to do this through video training. Semaglutide is a once a week subcutaneous injection.

Do I need to purchase supplies?

We send you everything you need for the first 6 months in one of our peptide kits, direct to your door. If you need a peptide refill kit, this can be purchased for $15. A complete peptide box with a sharps container is $20.
